Entering its second generation, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade builds on its reputation as a versatile three-row midsize SUV designed for families and active lifestyles. The new model is roughly 2.5 inches longer overall, with a wheelbase extended by 2.7 inches, resulting in noticeably more rear legroom and additional interior space. Standard seating accommodates up to eight passengers, while many trims offer second-row captain’s chairs as an option for added comfort. Hyundai has also expanded standard features, particularly in the areas of technology and safety, responding directly to customer feedback and expectations for a more well-equipped SUV.
The Hyundai Palisade Exterior Evolution
Externally the Hyundai Palisade shows both an evolution and refinement in styling. Its profile is squarer, with more upright body sides, a larger panoramic side glass area, and a grille whose lower air-intake section features active airflow shutters to improve cooling and efficiency. Daytime running light signature is updated to parametric vertical LED light bars flanking a bold grille, and the front overhang has been reduced. There is a new trim, the Hyundai Palisade XRT PRO, that adds off-road enhancements. Specifically, canyon-red recovery hooks up front, beefier lower fascia, and more rugged styling cues. Trims now offer alloy wheel sizes up to 21 inches in premium versions, and ground clearance for the off-road XRT PRO is increased to better handle rough terrain. The Hyundai Palisade rear design has been reimagined with a full-width LED taillight bar that creates a distinctive nighttime signature and emphasizes the vehicle's wider stance. An expanded color palette now includes several new exterior finishes, while black roof options on select trims add a two-tone aesthetic that enhances the Palisade's commanding road presence.
The Most Modern Hyundai Palisade Yet
The interior of the Hyundai Palisade has been upgraded for a more modern, refined, and comfortable experience. Many trims feature a curved panoramic display that combines the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen into a seamless visual centerpiece. Cabin materials have been enhanced with additional soft-touch surfaces, improved insulation, and a variety of seat upholstery options. This includes cloth, leather, leatherette, and Nappa leather, depending on the trim level. Comfort and convenience have also been expanded for the Hyundai Palisade. Second-row captain’s chairs offer one-touch tilt-and-slide functionality, with available footrests and heated or ventilated seating. The third row now features power-folding, sliding, and reclining seats with heating, and USB-C ports are provided in all three rows. Ambient lighting has been enriched for a more upscale feel, and hybrid models include a Stay Mode function. This function keeps the HVAC and infotainment systems running while the vehicle is parked.

The Hyundai Palisade makes significant strides in technology and safety across its lineup. The Hyundai Smart Sense suite now offers expanded capabilities. This includes forward collision-avoidance with enhanced detection, blind-spot collision warning, safe exit assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance, parking collision-avoidance in reverse, and remote smart parking assist. New for 2026 is an integrated dash cam system with front and parking mode cameras, allowing drivers to record both driving and parked activity, with playback or export available through the head unit or a microSD card. Connectivity features have also been upgraded in the Hyundai Palisade. This includes Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 Premium, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, over-the-air software updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging pads are becoming more widely available, and higher trims add additional USB-C ports, and 115V power outlets to support a range of devices. The Hyundai Palisade infotainment system now features a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen with split-screen capability, allowing simultaneous display of navigation and media controls for enhanced multitasking convenience.
Hyundai Palisade Power & Performance
The Hyundai Palisade gives buyers a choice between two distinct powertrains, each designed to balance performance, efficiency, and capability. The standard V6 is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine producing around 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It can be configured with either front-wheel drive or Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel-drive system and offers a maximum towing capacity of roughly 5,000 pounds. For those seeking higher efficiency and additional power, the new hybrid system combines a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four with two electric motors and a 6-speed automatic transmission. That of which delivers a combined output of about 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. While towing capacity is slightly reduced to approximately 4,000 pounds, fuel economy sees a substantial boost, with an estimated 34 mpg combined and a highway range of up to 619 miles on a full tank. Off-road capability is enhanced on specialized trims like the XRT PRO, which include selectable drive modes for Mud, Snow, and Sand, along with increased ground clearance of roughly 8.4 inches, giving the Hyundai Palisade improved traction and confidence on unpaved terrain.
