The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 comes in six trims: S, SE, SEL, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design. Hyundai offers three different motor setups for the 2026 Ioniq 9 depending on trim. The S trim comes exclusively with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive layout rated at 215 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Move up to the SE and SEL, and you get a Long-Range AWD setup that adds a front motor for a combined output of roughly 316 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 S is EPA-rated to get 103 MPGe in the city, 81 MPGe on the highway, and 92 MPGe combined. EPA estimates for the Performance AWD models come in at 85 MPGe combined, 91 MPGe in the city, and 79 MPGe on the highway. 

On the charging side, the IONIQ 9 is built on an 800-volt architecture that supports ultra-fast DC charging. Charge times from 10% to 80% are as low as 24 minutes on a 350-kW fast charger. The Ioniq 9 SEL delivered segment-leading speeds, averaging 642 miles of range per charging hour. It also supports bidirectional charging, allowing you to power appliances or devices from the vehicle’s battery.

Real World Top Speeds

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 S trim’s 0-60 mph time comes in at 9.4 seconds, while the SE and SEL dual-motor AWD setup cuts that sprint to 6.4 seconds. The Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design trims complete the 0-60 run in 5.2 seconds according to Hyundai, though real-world testing has done even better. At the Edmunds test track, the Calligraphy dispatched the 0-60 run in 4.8 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds at 103.2 mph. 

A First-Class Lounge Interior

Inside the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 top Performance Calligraphy Design, materials quality is excellent front to back. Both the front and second-row relaxation seats, which feature an extending foot and leg rest, are very comfortable, and there’s a ton of room even with a giant panoramic moonroof. 

The interior features a sliding “Universal Island” console, relaxation seating with massage and recline functions, customizable ambient lighting, and a minimalist layout designed to feel more like a lounge than a cockpit. Heated front seats are standard across the lineup, and available ventilation extends to the second row on higher trims.

Hyundai uses sustainable materials throughout the interior, including recycled plastics and eco-friendly leather. Higher trim levels like the SEL add H-Tex seating surfaces, while the Limited and Calligraphy bring ventilated second-row captain’s chairs and available massaging seat functions. Standard seven-passenger seating comes with the option for a six-passenger layout featuring captain’s chairs in the second row. 

The second and third rows offer available power-folding seats, and there is also a front trunk for extra storage up front. Cargo space is class-leading. There’s just shy of 22 cubic feet behind the third-row seat, enough for a couple of sizable pieces of luggage. Fold the third row and capacity jumps to nearly 47 cubic feet, and with all rows folded flat, the 2026 IONIQ 9 provides just about 87 cubic feet of space. 

A Fully Digital Hyundai

The fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster puts all essential driving info front and center, while the matching 12.3-inch navigation display keeps maps, media, and climate settings within easy reach. The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 also offers an available 10-inch head-up display that projects key information onto the windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road.
