Hyundai has announced that they will be building a Hyundai EV & Battery Plant in Savannah, Georgia to produce more EV cars
  • Hyundai has finalized plans to open a dedicated EV & battery plant in Savannah, Georgia.
  • This will be a $5.5 billion dollar investment from Hyundai & they plan to produce 300,000 EVs a year.
  • This new plant should create 8,000 new jobs.

The rumors are true, we are bringing Hyundai electric vehicles (EV) to the Peach State! Starting next year we will be breaking ground for the first Hyundai EV & battery plant in the U.S. Currently our manufacturing plant is operating in Ulsan, South Korea. However, we believe that expanding manufacturing to Savannah, Georgia will allow us to become one of the leading electric automobile companies in the U.S. market. We plan to have this 5.5 billion dollar investment up and running by 2025. It will have a capacity for 300,000 EVs a year. This high-tech EV plant represents the future of Hyundai and Georgia. Here at Tulsa Hyundai, we have all the details for you so keep reading!

Georgia and South Korea Hyundai

Like we mentioned earlier, our current manufacturing plant is in South Korea. There are deep ties between Georgia and South Korea and this plant will only make them stronger. Georgia has operated a trade office in South Korea since 1985 and South Korea has a consulate in Atlanta serving the Southeast. South Korea is ranked as Georgia’s fourth largest exporter of goods, so it is only right that we would want to establish a manufacturing plant in a state that works well with our main manufacturing country.

Hyundai EV & Battery Plant Technology

Hyundai is proud to embrace change and drive innovation and we will be able to create the technology to do so. This EV plant will help us meet the expanding demands of our U.S. customers who want leading edge design, safety, and the ability to be eco-friendly. We will manufacture multiple brands and models in our new warehouse also creating a number of EV models under our electric series. We plan to utilize many of our advanced intelligent manufacturing technologies that are currently under test at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore. The facility will become an intelligent manufacturing plant by using AI and data for all production operations. Guaranteeing sustainability, the plant will mainly rely on renewable energy sources to power the facility and use emission-reduction technologies to meet the RE100 requirements.

Future of Hyundai

Electric vehicles are the future of the automobile industry. This being said, by 2030 we plan EV manufacturing to grow tremendously to 3.2 million EVs a year globally. To achieve this goal we are building and sustaining a network that will ensure EV supply around the globe. This supplier network could further boost the Georgia economy by providing thousands of additional jobs. The pandemic has significantly impacted the supply chain for cars, computer chips, and other vital parts. This has shown us that we must have a strong and sturdy operations system, which having a plant in the U.S. will help secure.

This project will be the largest the state of Georgia has ever seen. The plant will operate on a 3,000 acre site in Bryan County with easy access to 250 major metro areas. It is right outside of Savannah, which is the largest container terminal in the U.S. with the Georgia Central Railway that holds two Class I rail facilities. With the pressure for our country to become more eco-friendly, this project will create 8,000 new jobs for Georgia’s talented workforce and will help further the state’s shift to an eco-friendly economy.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid has increased EV distance & safety features to take your family farther without gas
  • Hyundai has released a PHEV version of the 2022 Santa Fe.
  • The 2022 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid will fully charge in about 4 hours.
  • The 2022 Santa Fe PHEV will get 33 MPG and have a range of about 440 miles.

Arriving in the United States in 1986, the South Korean Brand, Hyundai, is no stranger to praise and celebration. The recent success of the automaker isn’t a shock to anyone, due to the numerous awards it has won over the years. However, it’s apparent that Hyundai has taken it a step further as of late. Within the past few years, every Hyundai vehicle that’s been released has been a smash-hit– seemingly every new model somehow surpasses the last– and the 2022 Hyundai Santa-Fe Plug-In Hybrid is a part of this phenomenon.

What’s New On The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid

The latest version of the Santa Fe, Hyundai’s mid-size family SUV, underwent its latest makeover in the 2021 model year, so the vehicle is quite modern in terms of style and features. More so, the latest Santa Fe offers a plug-in hybrid version. It combines a gas-electric hybrid powertrain with a larger battery and the ability to drive gas-free before the engine flips on to extend the driving range. Keep reading to find out the features that the 2022 Santa Fe carried over from the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Charging

According to Hyundai, recharging the Santa Fe Hybrid with a spent battery takes around four hours on a Level 2 240-volt charger. This model has a 3.6-kilowatt onboard charger at 240-volts as well. Because this PHEV has a battery far smaller than anything offered by full EV. There is no DC fast charging offered.

Power

Complete with a good-sized 13.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, the 2022 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid is good for an electric-only range of 30-miles before the engine turns on– at which point it is rated at 33mpg combined, and 76 mpg-equivalent. This allows a theoretical total range of 440 miles before refueling is needed.

This impressive SUV combines a small, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas engine producing 178-horsepower with a 90-hp permanent-magnet electric motor. Not to mention an actual geared six-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is not a continuously variable unit, although it is more common for PHEVs. The plug-in hybrid also has HTRAC (Hyundai’s all-wheel-drive system) as standard equipment. The powertrain makes a combined 261 hp. Although the addition of the bigger battery pack does take some room from the interior passenger volume, cargo capacity is not affected in the least.

Driving

The New Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid offers smooth and easy driving in EV mode. Thanks to a meter in the gauge cluster to inform you on how much throttle you can apply and still stay within the requirements of EV mode. Throttle applied too much or too quickly will click the digital gauge to the right. The engine will power on, as the Hybrid will think you need quick speed. However, if the Santa Fe is driven normally, it glides around burning little gasoline.

Although this model is a plug-in hybrid electric, it brings a real sense of normalcy when driving. The engine may not be extremely powerful, but the 2022 Santa Fe stands out in other ways. Perfect for growing families, the SUV is more than enough to get up to the speed of traffic and stay there. The six-speed transmission stands out because you can feel it peacefully shifting as you accelerate. There’s no noise that comes from the movement.

It doesn’t feel like other PHEVs who use a continuously variable automatic and deliver their power in one long, uniform surge. The car also differs from a gas-engine vehicle that switches its pitch each time the transmission shifts. Additionally, the vehicle handles quite easily, despite the extra weight of its electric motor and large battery pack. To sum it up, the 2022 Santa Fe PHEV allows for a comfy, quiet, and smooth ride.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Wins 2022 World Car Of The Year
  • The 2022 World Car Finals were held in New York and Hyundai dominated the awards.
  • The Hyundai IONIQ 5 won several awards including the coveted 2022 World Car Of The Year.
  • Hyundai also unveiled the 2023 Hyundai Palisade.

NEW YORK– The World Car Finals may have to change its name. After the dominance shown by one company during the car of the year awards, it may be better suited to rename it the Hyundai Awards.

Held at the annual New York International Auto Show, the World Car Finals has turned into the Oscars or Grammys for the automobile industry. And the big winner this year was without a doubt Hyundai.

Out of the six award categories that were featured, Hyundai walked away with three honors. That includes the prestigious World Car of the Year with its 2022 All-Electric IONIQ 5.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 – 2022 World Car Of The Year

“Our vision is to enable Progress for Humanity, and this endorsement of our approach will serve to embolden our commitment to make this vision a reality,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “IONIQ 5 represents a pivotal achievement for us as we pioneer a new generation of smart mobility solutions with our innovative E-GMP platform technologies, exceptional performance and disruptive approach to design and space. IONIQ 5 has made a strong impression on increasingly eco-conscious consumers around the world, and its success supports the acceleration of electrification of the automotive industry. The pace of change at Hyundai will continue unabated through the rest of 2022 as we will soon be adding to our award-winning IONIQ range.”

The IONIQ5 beat out the Ford Mustang Mach E and the KIA EV6 to take home the top award. It was recognized by a jury of 102 automotive journalists from 33 countries around the world.

The innovative battery electric vehicle (BEV), was a major reason for the car’s success.

The World Car Finals Gave More Awards For The IONIQ 5

The IONIQ 5 also grabbed the World Car Design of the Year and the first-ever World Electric Car of the Year.

“It is a great honor for us. It means a lot to the entire Hyundai motor family. I’d like to say thank you to everyone on behalf of us at Hyundai,” Chang said. “For Hyundai, this is just one step in a long journey to provide more solutions for more people, in more places. We look forward to bringing more to market. Including more brands to the future. I’m confident our team will continue to deliver more designs and deliver sustained solutions and services.”

It should not have been a surprise that Hyundai would have such a banner day. Earlier in the program, Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Vice President for Design and Chief Creative Officer was named the 2022 World Car Person of the Year by The World Car Awards jury panel representing 102 journalists from 33 countries.

Donckerwolke was chosen by the jury since he has held design responsibility for a number of highly innovative new models, including the Hyundai IONIQ5, Genesis GV60 and Kia EV6, which were launched over the past year. All three automobiles were a finalist in at least one of the World Car categories this year.

“Imagine giving your kids a prize because he plays with his toys,” Donckerwolke said. “Well, this is how I feel. I’m just a tree hiding in the forest, meaning my great design team. There are good designers everywhere. What makes a difference is management that trusts and empowers the design. This is why I am so grateful to work with a group that trusts us.”

The 2023 Palisade Was Also Unveiled

While it was a day to celebrate 2022, Hyundai officials were looking ahead to the future. They unveiled the 2023 Palisade SUV. The new Palisade still has a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque.  Customers notice right away the taller and wider grille. It blends meaninglessly with the upper daytime running lights on the newly designed Palisade. Designers also added a new trim level, which they are calling the XRT. It has black roof rails and dark alloy wheels to give it a serious look. As do the 20-inch wheels. It also includes black faun leather, a sunroof, and a wider center screen (12-inches across, with 720p resolution).

For those who like to show off, the automobile moves frontward and backward just using the key fob—while standing outside. Because of its size, this technology allows it to get in and out of cramped spaces a little easier.  â€œThe design of the 2023 Palisade conveys dignified refinement with clear differentiation worthy of a flagship SUV.” Hyundai spokesman stated. “A wider cascading grille form outlines rugged parametric shield elements for a premium appearance. The new forward lighting signature features vertically connected LED composite lights that frame the grille creating a sharp-edged, technical appeal. New, multi-spoke alloy wheels fill the wheel openings for a solid, premium appearance.”

The 2023 Palisade is to go on sale this summer. A price is not known as of yet. Whether you’re searching for a Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, Venue, Kona, Sonata, Elantra, Palisade, Santa Cruz, and/or the Ioniq 6, Tulsa Hyundai has it all. See you soon!

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE In Tulsa
  • The newest EV from Hyundai is the IONIQ 5 SE and it will be released in America in the Spring of 2022
  • The 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE ranks in the top 10 EVs for overall efficiency.
  • The battery charging on the 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE is really fast charging a battery back up to 80% in only 18 minutes.

The 2022 Ioniq 5 SE is not Hyundai’s first electric car, and it surely will not be its last. In 2019, Hyundai released the Kona Electric and it impressed the world. The model was praised and rose to the top of the best EV lists. With the release of the 2022 Ioniq 5 SE, Hyundai is here to prove that their first electric car was not by chance. They hope to be one of the top EV producers in the game.

Although Hyundai finds its niche amongst bargain hunters, the automaker moves into premium territory with the Ioniq 5. They will prove to be a fierce competitor in the electric crossover market.

Scheduled to hit American markets this spring, the 2022 Ioniq 5 SE is already impressing regions where it has been launched, including South Korea, Europe and Australia. So, now that we’ve got introductions out of the way, let’s dive into the features of the model and see why Hyundai’s EVs are among the highest ranks.

Exterior & Interior

The 2022 Electric Hyundai is the perfect mix of past and present– melding the classic style of small SUV crossovers with a more modern appearance. The exterior is stylish and polished, infusing sharp lines and a well-balanced chassis to the box-shaped SUV. The interior of the vehicle, too, is impressive: combining luxury with usability through the implementation of a sliding center console, expansive wheelbase and flat floor.

Electrical Efficiency

Hyundai generated early production versions of the Ioniq 5 Limited available for a nearly 175-mile test drive through the mountains of San Diego County in 2021. The test drive encompassed a fast-charge demonstration in a shopping mall adjacent to the U.S.-Mexico border.

When judging efficiency, this Hyundai EV was measured for 256 miles of range. That leaves 65 miles of range remaining at the end of the drive– indicating that only about 16 miles of range were lost to hill climbing and lead-footed driving. Nevertheless, the Ioniq 5 crossover was ranked among the top 10 EVs for overall efficiency by the EPA.

Additionally, the EV houses a four-level, regenerative braking system which regenerates energy as the model slows down. The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE also has an “i-Pedal” setting which allows the system enough power to completely stop the vehicle without touching the brakes.

This feature is enormously useful in mountain driving and stop-and-go traffic, as it mimics downshifting in a gas vehicle.

Power & Performance Of The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE

The Ioniq 5 SE’s skateboard design places the batteries under the vehicle’s floor and between the axles. This makes for a low, road-hugging center of gravity, fashioning a well-balanced ride. This is thanks to the EV-specific modular platform.

Throughout the test drive, the Hyundai EV drove Southern California freeways, urban streets, and twisting country roads. The model even faced a 5,000-foot mountain – both up and down. Overall, the vehicle is powerful, comfortable and very roomy, with great visibility and ample handling.

The 2022 crossover’s 320-horsepower dual motor, all-wheel drive powertrain – which is available in all three trims – shows just how fast this SUV really is. Only inadequate for race car drivers, this model claims a time of 5.1 seconds for a zero-to-60-mph.

The Ioniq 5 faces various roads and freeways with ease. It has a sporty handling and comfortable ride quality. The vehicle offers three different modes – sport mode, eco mode, and normal mode. Sport mode adjusts the accelerator and steering for top-level responsiveness, promoting tight and responsive steering. The eco mode slows everything down, even climate settings, to conserve battery power. And finally, normal mode is just as it sounds: normal driving. All three of the AWD modes employ an energy-saving heat pump instead of an electric heater for cabin conditioning.

Range, Battery and Charging

Possessing a competitive range of up to 303 miles, all trim levels of the Ioniq 5 SE boast a package of advanced safety and driver assist features, top of the industry charging speed, and powerful all-wheel drive options.

While the industry standard for charging is 400-volts, the Hyundai Electric houses an 800-volt electrical architecture. Proving the model can handle ultra fast recharging on road trips. While other 800-volt EVs will continue production, most find home in the super-premium and luxury range. In fact, the only other EV that offers 800-volt charging today is the Porsche Taycan.

The Hyundai EV’s 250-kilowatt DC fast-charger can recharge a 90 percent battery back up to 80 percent in 18 minutes. It easily surpasses the common 150-kilowatt charger. That of which can perform the same recharge to a 90 percent depleted battery in 25 minutes.

The 2022 Ioniq 5 SE’s standard 11 kilowatt Level 2, 240-volt onboard charges the car in about six hours and 45 minutes.

USNWR Best Cars For The Money Badge
  • Hyundai won 5 awards from U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Cars For The Money awards.
  • The Hyundai vehicles that won awards were the Santa Fe, Kona, Tucson, Elantra Hybrid, and Tucson Hybrid.
  • All of these 2022 Hyundai vehicles are sold in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Tulsa Hyundai.

Last Thursday, on January 20th, 2022,  U.S. News & World Report revealed the 2022 Best Cars for the Money award winners, where Hyundai won big. Walking away with five awards, Hyundai won more awards than any other brand in the ranking. U.S. News & World Report gifted Hyundai four awards within the Best SUV for the Money category, and one award within the Best Cars for the Money category. Hyundai proved to have the best cars by winning awards in: Best Hybrid or Electric Car for the Money, Best Hybrid or Electric SUV for the Money, Best Subcompact SUV for the Money, Best Compact SUV for the Money, and Best 2-Row SUV for the Money.

2022 Best Cars for the Money Awards

Considered to be an expert in rankings and consumer reports– globally, I might add– U.S. News Best Cars has published rankings of the majority of new vehicles sold in America since 2007. With the goal of putting out rankings that “empower citizens, consumers, business leaders and policy officials to make better, more informed decisions about important issues affecting their lives”, U.S. News assists more than 40 million people per month for answers and guidance.

The Best Cars for the Money Awards shine light on cars, SUVs and minivans which perfectly fuse long-term value and excellent ownership experience. According to Jim Sharifi, the managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars, “A Best Cars for the Money award represents a strong value at the dealership and over the course of ownership. These vehicles also provide a rewarding ownership experience, with comfort, features and performance that buyers will appreciate.” The Best Cars awards include: Best Vehicle Brands, Best Cars for the Money and Best Cars for Families.

How are the Best Cars For The Money awards chosen?

For each category, the victor car has the best combination of quality and value. By using a car’s score in the U.S. News Best Car Ranking, U.S. News measured quality. Scores in the rankings are based on safety and reliability data, the shared opinion of the automotive press on a given vehicle’s performance and interior, and how strongly each reviewer recommends it. The value of a vehicle is measured by checking its real-time transaction prices (given by TrueCar), and the five-year total cost of ownership data (determined by Vincentric).

Hyundai’s Success

In the rankings, Hyundai won more than any other car brand with five awards. Honda came in second with three, while Kia, Nissan and Toyota each collected one award. Three of Hyundai’s models racked in their second award (Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Tucson) while two of their vehicles earned the award for the very first time (Hyundai Elantra Hybrid and Hyundai Tucson Hybrid). Hyundai, the star of the show, shone the brightest in the SUV category, but also acquired success in the car category as well. The awards are as follows:

Best Cars for the Money

  • Hyundai Elantra Hybrid: Best Hybrid or Electric Car for the Money
  • Nissan Versa: Best Subcompact Car for the Money
  • Honda Civic: Best Compact Car for the Money

2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz in Tulsa OK
  • Hyundai has released their first truck called the Santa Cruz.
  • The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz has a towing capacity of 5000 lbs.
  • All the safety features and the Hyundai warranty comes standard with the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz.

The Distinction of the Hyundai Santa Cruz

The brand new Hyundai Santa Cruz for 2022 is now released and available for sale in most markets. This highly anticipated vehicle from Hyundai has left many wondering, is this vehicle a truck or an SUV? By looking at the distinct look of the Santa Cruz, it’s easy to see why people are questioning this. Rest assured that this is the first truck produced by Hyundai and it is unlike most midsize trucks in the market. Hyundai has combined a midsize truck, with the feel of an SUV, that is more comfortable and comes with some towing power.

Performance Of The Hyundai Santa Cruz

When buying any vehicle, we want to make sure that it is going to come with the performance we need or desire. The Hyundai Santa Cruz comes with some pretty good specs and upgrades that we are sure will interest you.

Under The Hood Of The Hyundai Santa Cruz

There are two different powertrain options available for the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The standard powertrain option comes with a 2.5 liter, 4 cylinder engine capable of producing 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Not bad although the upgraded powertrain comes with a turbocharged 2.5 liter, 4 cylinder engine capable of producing 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. This difference is noticeable and we feel you will have greater satisfaction with this Hyundai truck by going with the upgraded powertrain option.

Towing Capacity

The true measurement of any truck lies in its ability to tow a payload. This midsize truck has the capacity to tow up to 5,000 pounds! That’s quite a capacity considering that this truck is not designed to tow farm equipment or concrete. This should be more than enough tow capacity for everyday use.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy of the 2022 Santa Cruz is on par with other midsize trucks. The standard powertrain option delivers an average 21 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway while the upgraded powertrain option delivers an average 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The turbocharger is going to use a little more fuel within the city but you also get that needed power boost when you must have it.

Inside the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz

If you have ever driven a Hyundai before, you know that Hyundai does not cut corners when it comes to the interior of the vehicle. The new Santa Cruz is no different. Critics are saying that the Santa Cruz has one of the “nicest cabins” of any midsize truck. The Hyundai truck is only available as a 4-door crew cab making it easy for passengers to enter and exit the truck. It is the first midsize truck to have a fully digital gauge cluster. The seats are comfortable and the interior design makes this truck feel larger inside than it really is.

Infotainment Center

The infotainment center on the Santa Cruz is big. 10.3 inches to be exact. And, it’s connectivity is up to the level that you would expect from Hyundai. Wireless pairing to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, Hyundai Blue Link services (free for the first 3 years), and a multitude of apps to make your ride easier and more enjoyable. Want an upgraded sound system in your Hyundai truck? Upgrade the sound system to an eight speaker Bose and feel like you are in an IMAX theater.

Hyundai Santa Cruz Safety Features

Like most other Hyundai vehicles, the Santa Cruz is ranked as being very safe. Mainly due to the driver’s assist features that come with it. Some of the features include:

  • Driver attention warning
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automated emergency braking
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Lane departure warning

For a complete list of safety features on the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz, we encourage you to visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) website.

The Hyundai Warranty

Hyundai has the best vehicle warranty in the industry. That same warranty will apply to the Hyundai Santa Cruz as well. Here are a few highlights from that warranty.

  • 5 year/60,000 mile Limited Warranty
  • 10 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty
  • 3 year/36,000 mile Complimentary Maintenance Warranty

Visit our website for more details about the Hyundai warranty or you can find more details on Hyundai’s website.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe in Lagoon Blue
  • The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is considered one of the best family SUVs on the market.
  • Depending on chosen engine, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe will get 40-44 mpg.
  • The Euro NCAP gave the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe a five star rating.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Overview

The new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is a fierce competitor as well as a spacious, comfortable family SUV. It has a stylish exterior and a comfy, lavishly-equipped interior. It is a great alternative to the array of large SUVs on sale today and, as a result of its upgrades, premium rivals will be looking over their shoulders at the Santa Fe. The 2021 upgrade brings things up-to-date thanks to its hybrid technology.

Engines, Performance, & Drive

Rated 3.8/5 Stars by AutoExpress

This car is going to take care of its passengers when maneuvering over difficult roadways, surface imperfections, holes, and bumps. The standard self-leveling suspension makes every trip and adventure a relaxing experience. Low-speed trips are a bit lower quality when it comes to how fidgety the SUV can become, and there is the slightest bit of wind noise at motorways speeds.

The four-wheel drive system has a drive mode selector to help set up its drivers for most road conditions. In Eco and Sport modes, the Santa Fe modifies a range of drivetrain parameters to suit your adventure, and the Comfort mode creates a softer experience for the driver and passengers. There are also Snow, Mud, and Sand modes for those types of off-road terrain.

The only negative found is the heavy steering that stays that same regardless of driving mode.

Both of the Santa Fe hybrid models share their turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with the Ioniq hatchback. The four wheel drive will reach 62mph in 9.1 seconds in the mild-hybrid. In the PHEV version, it reaches 62 mph in 8.8 seconds, and the 2020m diesel models reaches 62mph in 9.5 seconds but has a higher top speed at 127mph.

MPG, CO2, & Running Costs

Rated 3.5/5 Stars by AutoExpress

Because of the high weight of the new Hyundai Santa Fe, it’s a lot to move around and impacts the overall economy. Buyers can expect an average of 40mpg and CO2 emissions in the 151-170g/km range.

With the 2WD mild-hybrid model, you are looking at around 44.1mpg and 40.4mpg for 4X4.

If we move up to the PHEV version, we can benefit from both exceptional fuel-efficiency AND extremely low CO2 figures. (that is if we keep the battery charged)

Insurance costs could be slightly higher than those of the Santa Fe’s closest rival. The potential for depreciation in this vehicle isn’t the best we’ve seen. The new hybrids are still to be confirmed, but we think they’re likely to be similar. After 36 months of ownership, a top-spec four-wheel-drive Premium SE model is predicted to lose just over 46% of its value when it comes time to trade in.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Interior, Design, & Technology

Rated 4.0/5 Stars by AutoExpress.

The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe has a much bolder appearance compared to previous models. A larger hexagonal grille, new LED headlamps, and a new lower bumper design sets it apart, along with the LED light bar connected to the tail-lamps and a redesigned rear bumper.

Wheels range from 17 to 19-inches and the colors have its usual array of silvers, greys, and blacks along with splashes of color with Lava Orange, Stormy Sea blue, Horizon Red, and Rain Forest. All paints have a metallic option as well and all models get chrome and dark chrome exterior trim.

The interior has a spacious cabin with new drive mode control and push button gear selector. There is also very comfortable seating and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen OR a 12-inch configurable digital instrument cluster for hybrid models. The switchboard can seem overwhelming at first, but it’s pretty easy to manage and most get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the range and the touchscreen display features crisp graphics and tons of functions.

All of these things together give the 2021 Santa Fe a fashion-forward appeal.

Practicality & Comfort

Rated 4.0/5 Stars by AutoExpress.

All Santa Fe models come with the standard seven seats, but this model specifically seems to have a pretty tight back seat–most suited for children. Finding comfort behind the wheel is easy with the fullest range of electric adjustment, and visibility is not a problem with a larger glasshouse and the rear camera. The Premium SE has a 360-degree camera system if you’re needing even more.

There are many clever interior features including a spacious glovebox, useful cubby holes throughout the cabin, a storage compartment in the front, cup holders in both the front and rear, and two USB slots and a 12V power outlet in the rear as well.

The Santa Fe offers a ton of headspace and knee-space in the first two-rows and the middle can easily fit three adults side-by-side-by-side. The third row, though, seems to be the only space lacking. If you have children, though, this would be perfect for that space.

Reliability & Safety

Rated 4.0/5 Stars by AutoExpress

The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe was awarded a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. They scored 94% in the ‘Adult Occupant’ category and 88% for ‘Child Occupant Safety.’ Part of this rating is due to its selection of standard safety equipment. This includes Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system, pedestrian detection capabilities, hill start and descent control systems, and lane departure warning. Ultimate models add rear-cross traffic alert and blind-spot detection systems to that list as well.

All Hyundai models come with an unlimited mileage, five-year warranty and the 2021 Santa Fe is no exception! This warranty is amongst the very best in class. Especially if you’re planning to keep your vehicle for more than the average 2-3 years.

Our Final Thought On The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: This is THE family SUV. With all of its accessories, and the plethora of standard safety features, competitors don’t stand a chance.

Logo For Sabado Futbolero
  • Hyundai is now a proud sponsor of Sabado FĂştbolero.
  • Univision and Hyundai released a new hashtag to celebrate #BecauseFĂştbol
  • Hyundai has developed 3 different TV spots to commemorate different cultures who love soccer.

Hyundai Is Inspired By The Culture And Love For FĂştbol

FĂştbol has always played an important cultural role across the world and especially in Latin America, and it is an inspiration to people of all ages. The culture of FĂştbol brings friends and families together to root on their favorite teams. The love people have for this sport is incredible and remains an outlet of cultural pride. For many, the best way for them to celebrate their cultural roots was through soccer. In light of this amazing sport, Hyundai has decided to join forces with Univision Deportes as a sponsor of Sabado FĂştbolero, which is Saturday Soccer.

The Growth Of Soccer Community and Culture in the U.S.

Soccer in the United States has grown immensely over the past few decades, especially because of the rise in the Latino population. From the aspect of Latinos moving to a country where soccer is the 4th or 5th most popular sport rather than 1st, soccer provides a community and a way for Latinos to feel close to home. It is also a way for parents to show their young children their pride and love for the country they grew up in, in hope to pass down that same passion of the sport.

Hyundai & Univision Recognize Passionate Sabado FĂştbolero Audience

Hyundai and Univision have launched #BecauseFĂştbol to display the pivotal force Latino’s and Hispanics are towards soccer’s growing influence. This campaign features three new Spanish-language TV spots. It highlights the fan rivalry between Chivas de Guadalajara and Cruz Azul. The hashtag perfectly describes the fan base. It allows Hyundai to join in on the spirit and passion people have for soccer, to “entertain fans and connect. Throughout the TV spots, there is a custom penning sequence from the collaboration with Univision and logo placements in various scenes and graphics. There is also social content and a call-to-action to inspire fans to share their passion on social media and show the world the reason they love soccer.

Hyundai’s Campaign Celebrates Car & Fútbol Culture

As mentioned earlier, there are three TV spots that were published around July 31,2021: A BBQ with Rivals, Cookie from Abuela, and When Lemonade is not for Sale. This campaign was executed by Hyundia’s agency, INNOCEAN USA. Hyundai Dealerships embrace and love this campaign because of the sense of community soccer provides Hispanics. It goes the same way when you purchase a Hyundai car. Hyundai’s community allows individuals to feel welcome. They can relate to one another with something as simple as the vehicle they are driving.

The Individual TV Spots on Sabado Futbolero Exemplify Different Rivalries

Each TV spot tells a different story. The first one, A BBQ with rivals, is the epitome of a sports rivalry between family and friends. The spot is comedic and displaying fans are passionate about their team. They are always up for some friendly rivalry fun. The next one, Cookies from Abuela, is another perfect example of rivalry. Abuela refuses to give her granddaughter a cookie because she is clearly supporting a different team  that despite age difference and familial relations nothing will get in the way. The last one, When Lemonade is not for Sale. Which is another comedic example of the culture of rivalry between all generations.

What’s amazing about all of these spots is that consumers and viewers do not have to speak or understand Spanish to enjoy these placements of ads. On social media, people share the hashtag in efforts to not only celebrate soccer culture, but also show why people love their Hyundai cars. This campaign was successful in many ways that inspired the community while promoting Hyundai Cars in an intentional and enticing way.

The Wide Community of Sabado Futbolero & Hyundai Cars

Just like Sunday Night Football, Saturday Soccer has the same importance and love that Hyundai is visualizing through their campaign. It is a known fact that sports bring people together in unexpected ways but soccer exceeds all other sports when it comes to love, loyalty, and a sense of togetherness. Despite the huge rivalry between fan bases, soccer is a tight-knit community where individuals feel welcomed and their passion for soccer fuels excitement. For Hispanics and Latinos, soccer is an outlet to celebrate their culture and proudness of their home country. Hyundai’s #BecauseFĂştbol is inspiring with a comedic element that entices consumers to purchase their vehicle when in the market. At the end of the day, sports will always be there to bring joy and community to all individuals.

  • In addition to producing cars, Hyundai also produces big rigs using the XCIENT fuel cells.
  • Hyundai’s XCIENT Fuel Cell truck is one of the best eco-friendly, hydrogen powered trucks on the market.
  • 46 XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks can travel a little over a total of 466,000 with reduced carbon emissions by 585 tons.

With the changes in widespread viewpoints on controversial topics, the world has been changing at a rapid pace. Companies all over the world are trying to keep up with the global demand. That demand being for eco-friendly products, low carbon-footprint machines, and much more. Hyundai is staying up with the demand with hydrogen powered trucks.

XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck: Globally Expanding

Hyundai has been a top contender recently for their eco-focused designs. Also, Hyundai’s implementations that have been released for an exciting new fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles. One of these, being a hot commodity in the market right now, the XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck. With exciting new improvements to the overall design and performance of this eccentrically modern machine, Hyundai is looking to be one of the best choices for eco-friendly semi-trucks that are ready for the future. Let’s check out what some of these upgrades are planning out to be:

Design Updates

A linear and bold ‘V’ shape of chrome details and multi-dimensional mesh patterns have been added to the exterior of the truck, adding a simple yet attractive touch to the overall look with no adjustments to any negative spectrum on the resulting performance. The blue point color lining the grille mixing with the decal graphics perfectly visualizes the truck’s fuel cell use of eco-friendly, hydrogen energy. The new and improved grille design utilizes the multi-dimensional mesh patterns to allow better airflow and a fashionable new look to rival modern competitors. The XCIENT Truck is available in a 6×2 rigid body configuration to complement the 4×2 option. So getting up hills, over rocks, and such will be even easier.

Performance Improvements

The XCIENT Truck is equipped with a 180-kW hydrogen fuel cell system. This system has two 90-kW fuel cell stacks specially modified for improved fuel efficiency & durability. An available 350-kW e-motor with maximum torque of 2,237 is also available for those who want better dynamic driving performance

Hyundai has installed seven large hydrogen tanks to offer a total storage capacity of 31 kg of fuel. Many truckers need more fuel than that, which is why a 72-kWh-powered set of three batteries provides an additional source of power to keep with your demands. While the maximum driving range of the 2021 XCIENT Fuel Cell is set to be around 248 miles, refueling a full tank of hydrogen only takes about 8 to 20 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature. These numbers are more than enough for many drivers to quickly refuel and get back on the roads.

Making A Difference You Can Count On

With the launch of the enhanced model, Hyundai plans to accelerate the global advancement of its heavy-duty fuel cell truck on a whole new level that we expect is going to make a big change to the transportation industry within a couple of years. Hyundai has managed to ship out a total 46 of XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks to Switzerland last year with the cumulative driving range of those trucks in operation reaching over 750,000 kilometers (466,028 miles)! And it did more than just save fuel too, over that distance, the hydrogen-powered trucks have reduced carbon emissions by an estimated 585 tons compared to diesel-powered vehicles.

According to CEO of Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility, “We are very confident that we will see XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks on the road in other European countries next year.” They also plan to showcase the XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks to the North American market this year. By talking with several local governments and logistics businesses to start multiple joint ventures for distributing across the country.
